| Description | A skin for one of the most under-rated and unappreciated NES games ever made: MetalStorm. The title page is used for the top DS screen while a level start / loading page is used for the touch screen. I modified the lower screen to read "CycloDS Stage" rather than "Stage 1-1". For the menu icons, I used game sprites: the first is a still shot of the M-308 Gunner, the next is its upgraded weapons being fired, and the final is an M-308 explosion animation. A word of caution - when using the game menu, only the top and bottom selections are clearly visible all of the time. The background on the lower screen can interfere with the text in the center. This isn't a deal-breaker in my opinion, but I know it might be bothersome to some people. On a side note, if you look at screenshots of the game in action, you'll find that the backgrounds are very complex. If you have a suggestion for a more appropriate background that is easier on the eyes, just leave a comment. I'd be happy to take another shot at it... The cheat icons are custom, but very simple - they are modeled after the "Ready!" exclamation point and altered to match the color palette. Do yourself a favor and track this game down if you can find the cartridge for sale online. It's a great game with impressive animation and clever level designs that more people should know about.
