Excellent first theme, I'm going to give this a 3/5. As discussed earlier, the icon images are a little too bright. Welcome to the site!

As a first theme it's certainly not bad though your icons would look better either framed out like your other text areas or had the white
background removed. As icons go, however, these are among the most used icons in any Mario-based theme (and some non-Mario ones, too.) A little
diversity would've gone a long way. File screens look tidy though some additional art could've spruced them up a bit and helped tie it all up
(aside from the MKDS logo.)
And a theme.ini would go a long way here. You can get a great FREE program "TC4R4" from our very own
DiD that can help you with building one: http://users.telenet.be/DiDDesign/
I can't see the square. 3/5 from me.
