Description Looking for a subject for the theme contest I thought of school and how I always was scribbling in my exercise book. Because it was a long time ago I thought it would be nice to make that into a theme with old books and paper textures. I found a brilliant site with loads of gorgeous textures: http://zentextures.com/

But eventually I chose the the book cover from:
http://www.davidg.ro/featured-articles/ … ures-ever/
and the paper from: http://lostandtaken.com/

Added some lines to make the paper look like lined paper and played a bit with shadows to make the top statusbar.
The icons I made to look like drawn by blue ballpen.

I forgot where I found the paperclip I used for the scrollbar and the mario figure, icons and Nintendo logo is from the Nintendo website.

Even though it was intended for the contest I feel I wasn't fast enough to finish it. So I uploaded it as a normal theme.

Hope you like it. :)

Very cool idea, and well executed. I like the Biro ink for the buttons as well as the subtle Mario stamped onto the "paper". Worn down
bookcover is especially cool.

Very well done indeed. Combining these outstanding backgrounds with Mario must bring attention to this theme. May you have many downloads my
friend. ;)

Thanks. That was the intention. ;) Though number of downloads don't count for much at the moment (can't see 'em). But the idea that people may like it
counts. And of course I like Mario! :D

Wow... there's practically nothing at all here that strikes me as off, or needing improvement. I like how you've used the blue pencil as a
highlight for the icons and cheats, reminds me of the stuff I used in school during my Architecture classes. :]

Is it REALLY
necessary to put the G/M/S in the icons though? I feel rather insulted that people are assuming the average user isn't able enough to glance up
at the top of their touch screen to figure out which icon is what honestly. :/

Great you do like it.

About the letters: I just happen to like typography and letters as graphic elements. Nothing do with me assuming
anything. Scribbling can be letters, and in fact I find it a good way to differentiate the buttons. I think it fits the idea quite nice (it's my own
handwriting).

Anyway, thanks for commenting. :)

Revisiting themes I realized that this had passed over, is simple but very very good. ;)
